The Christ Church Choir of Men and Boys was founded in the early 1900s and presented the best of the Anglican choral tradition, ably led by fine organists and directors. Since merging with St. Luke’s Church in the 1930s, and transitioning into a mixed adult choir in the 1970s, it has continued that role of musical leadership within the Parish and the community. For a time, the Cantata Chorus of Norfolk was based at the church, later to become the Virginia Symphony Chorus. The Choir has produced several CDs and has toured the United States and Europe. In 2019 they sang at Wells Cathedral, St. Martin in the Fields in London, and the American Cathedral and St. Eustache in Paris. Right after the Richmond Conference, they will be singing at York and Lincoln Cathedrals.
